I was wondering if Howard was ever going to get around to taking Ford & Ben Thompson to court for the stolen estate stuff. I guess I had assumed that since there had been nothing reported about it that they made some sort of deal... You know like Howard not pressing charges in return for Ford & Ben to drop the claims on the Horizon's home. But then again why should anything be settled with them if 1) the home did rightfully belong to Anna and then 2) the items were taken illegally.
What I could never understand about the taken items was that if they were really taken to "look out for Anna" why was the stuff sold all over the place? Was he trying to help Anna or was he just trying to get a few minutes in the spotlight? What do you think?

Howard K. Stern Goes After Ford Shelly & C. Ben Thompson
Howard K. Stern, acting on behalf of the Estate of Anna Nicole Smith (AKA Vickie Lynn Marshall) has filed suit against Ford Shelly and C. Ben Thompson along with several other unnamed individuals for the wrongful removal and use of personal belonging of Anna Nicole Smith.
The actions seeks “compensatory, equitable, and punitive relief arising from actions taken by” the above mentioned defendents.
Anna Nicole died on February 8, 2007, and within 24 hours, much of her personal property was stolen from her residence in the Bahamas, known as “Horizons”. For months after the tragic death, many of the DVD’s included in the belongings appeared worldwide on the news. Some of the more known items included the famous “clown video” and the “Christmas Video”. Ford Shelly publically appeared on national television admitting to taking these videos.
Some of the items had been turned into South Carolina authorities by Ford Shelly and C. Ben Thompson, but further investigation revealed that the hard drives of the devises had been copied and transferred.
According to Mr. Stern, at a later date Ford Shelly attempted to give some of the taken belongings to Larry Birkhead, Dannielynn’s father, and Larry Birkhead informed Shelly that he was not authorized to receive items on behalf of the Anna Nicole Estate. Among the items were personal paintings that Anna had made for Dannielynn.

1) I was very suprised to hear that Shelly actually showed up for the inquest. Wasn't he suposed to get arrested or something for going into the Horizon's and taking stuff?
2) Speaking of Shelly, if he had proof the house was his, why didn't he show up in court to fight to get it back?

Inquest Testimony - The Pictures
"I was totally shocked he was taking pictures of a dead child laying in that bed," Thompson testified at the inquest into the death while being questioned by a lawyer for Anna Nicole's long-estranged mother, Virgie Arthur.
Stern said the photographs "might be worth some money one day," Thompson testified.

Anna Nicole Smith on Geraldo Tonight
On Geraldo tonight, Geraldo’s brother Graig stated that Ford Shelly and Ben Thompson will be testifying at the inquest into Daniel’s death. Geraldo said that he didn’t feel there was a real robust investigation going on.

On Geraldo tonight Ben Thompson said that Howard told him to guard 3 bags in the room with his life. He says that one of the bags contained Anna Nicole’s drugs. Then Howard took pictures saying to Ben Thompson these will probably be worth a lot of money one day.
Ben Thompson says that Anna Nicole never told Howard to take those pictures. I am confused as to why they would come out with this now. And why put this sick picture on TV. Ben Thompson and his son Ford Shelly say they are now going to turn over these tapes and photos for investigation. Why now? Why not before if they truly believed that there was something that the authorities or anyone could use?

Geraldo is saying he is going to show the picture of Anna Nicole holding dead Daniel! He is interviewing Ben Thompson's son. (I can't remember his name). Why would he do this?
Ben Thompson Once Again a "No Show"
C. Ben Thompson was once again a no show in the Bahamas for court proceedings that took place on Wednesday. These proceedings were involving the items taken from the Horizon’s mansion after the death of Anna Nicole Smith.
Thompson had always claimed that he was instructed to remove these items in the event that anything happened to Anna Nicole for safe-keeping. That really doesn’t make for much of a defense because the entire world witnessed these items being released to news reporters. In Thompson’s defense though, I do believe that the items he released were to try expose the people who were surrounding Anna in her final days.
On Wednesday the court heard testimony from a maid as to the items that were removed from the home. The hearing is scheduled to continue on September 26. Thompson is not expected to show.

C. Ben Thomson a No Show in the Bahamas Today
It is being reported that once again C. Ben Thompson has not showed up for court in the Bahamas. He was scheduled to show in court today to begin to sourt out this mess. Messing meaning the many questions still lingering around Anna Nicole's death. Does he own the Horizons; did he break in the day Anna Nicole died, Is he violating court orders ect ect.
There have been claimes that C. Ben Thompson is fearful of returning to Bahamas because believes he will be arrested if he goes there. The court sounds like they are fed up and have orded the procedings to start anyway today without him. A lawyer will stand in his place.
I cannot say for certain, but I am sure that Pinder (his lawyer) has adviced him not to go there. If Howard K. Stern manages to get away with taking a free house I will be absolutely amazed. Sounds like the Bahamas is truly a paradise for the "shady".
