First of all, let me say that I think that most teachers deserve our respect for dedicating their lives to teaching the children who will become our future leaders. With that being said, I do not think that gives them the right to expect us to higher our taxes to pay for benefits for them that we ourselves do not get. Do they deserve, health, dental, and pension - ABSOLUTELY... but they should have to contribute to these plans the same way the rest of us.
I also think that teachers should not get to keep their jobs just because they are in a union. Teachers who are good teachers should be rewarded but there are alot of less than par apples floating around some of the schools.
Unfortunately we are living in the time of give me give me give me where many expect the government to wipe their butts for them. It seems as though every time I turn on the TV there is some group, right, left, center, this country or some other country who that is throwing a trantrum over what they feel the world owes them.
If you (speaking to the Wisconsin teachers now) don't like your job then get another one... but good luck because most other jobs aren't going to give you all that you are taking for granted now.
